According to the weather as of late, spring has nearly sprung. Rising temperatures and the sun sticking around past 4pm are becoming a welcome sight. Not only for those of us who call the prairies home but also for the clothing brands who stock the shelves of our favourite spots. Leaving the house without worry of the air hurting your face, or having to cloak on several layers are just a couple of the upsides to this change in season. Another, which can seem slightly less pressing but welcome all the same, is the introduction of colour back into our wardrobes.
While cautious steps should likely be taken when moving back into the warm weather wears, there is a sense of relief when we are once again able to splash seasonal shades back into our daily dressing routines. Colour however, isn’t the only thing that seems to work a little better with less snow on the ground. Over the past few seasons, patterns and prints have begun to make a resurgence in the street wear world and loyal followers of this segment have embraced them with open arms.
For the spring of 2014, there are few standouts in this arena and one of them is Publish Brand, whose take on both patterns and prints is well-rounded and ready to rock with whatever look you will employ to welcome in the season. When taking a look through their latest offering it is easy to see that the brand wanted to add an element of excitement to their line. At the same time it can clearly be seen that restraint is a virtue, which Publish Brand does not take lightly. This only seems to add to the collection’s appeal.
While it is never the smartest of moves to push personal opinion on people, I feel like I am far from alone in my fandom of their marquee print “polka stars” which is about as self-explanatory as they come. The pattern can be used in a multitude of ways that just so happen to work in perfect unison with the rest of the pieces in the line…funny how that happens.
It can also be used to put the perfect amount of pop in your kit, giving you the ability to turn heads without making too loud of a statement. How you choose to wear the latest from Publish Brand is up to you because after all, who the hell am I? I will say this though: don’t sleep on this stuff, that will leave you wishing you would have listened to me.
