Nike Barkley Posite Max ‘Gamma Blue’ ($280)
It wasn’t too long ago that Nike launched the Barkley Posite Max and it’s already becoming one of the new favourites among sneaker-heads alike. Charles Barkley’s bold, in-your-face personality demands a bold, in-your-face shoe. The most recent release is definitely brash and like Barkley in his prime this shoe cannot go unnoticed. The distinct silver foamposite pops off a black base and features a bright gamma blue speckle throughout.
This is easily my favourite detail on the whole shoe and the best use of the Gamma Blue as well…just my opinion. Oh…and did i mention that the outsole glows in the dark? Because it does!
Air Jordan 1 ’93 ‘Playoff’ ($170)
The Air Jordan 8 has ruled heavy over Jordan Brand releases as of late and it seems they aren’t slowing down a bit. Wether its the actual shoe or a classic with a hybrid twist the 8 is out there for the taking. In this case the Air Jordan 1 Retro ’93 mixes the classic silhouette of the Jordan 1 with bold and colorful details from the Jordan 8. One of them has a ‘Playoff’ 8 look while the other has a strange electric green vibe that has not yet gotten a corresponding AJ 8. Both shoes however different in colour are similar in make up. Here are a few details to look forward to.
Iconic chenille Jumpman patch originally featured on the AJ 8 stitched on the tongue and an embroidered ’23’ on the forefoot for a nod to MJ’s iconic jersey number
The colourful ‘paint stroke’ pattern featured on the AJ 8 is printed on the collar lining and varies from shoe to shoe which helps add a touch of individuality to each pair.
If you’re looking to get your hands on any of these better get to Coda ASAP! Don’t forget to wear your shoes, winters not that far away…
