The denim game is not what it used to be. Gone are are the days when we would buy a pair of jeans only to treat them as “disposable”, and we are now living in a time where denim is looked as an invest, and a part of our wardrobe which stays there for years at a time. No longer do we buy jeans with the intention of replacing them as they are worn distressed over time, but rather we treat the battle scars that our pants receive as signs of a life well-lived.
Unfortunately as a result of some of this wear, we are faced with something that hurts like few other things; rips, tears, and blown-seams in our favorite pairs of jeans. This is something that over the course of time becomes unavoidable and must be faced with the best intentions and some serious devotion to the cause if we want to see said pants properly doctored without an extensive tailor bill.
Luckily for us the good people at Nudie Jeans have put together a nice little how-to video that shows us the basic in’s and out’s of fixing our beloved denim with our own willing and able hands. The short pieces shows not only everything we need to get the job done, but exactly how to do it.
So enjoy the piece, and be sure to take notes as there is no doubt that this will come in handy for you at least a few times over the course of your denim purchasing life.
